Tom Holland Candidly Addresses James Bond Casting Rumors: ‘We’ll Get There One Day’ originally appeared on Parade.
The search rages on for the next actor to take over the iconic mantle of James Bond in the upcoming Amazon-produced spy series.
With rumors and speculation continuing to running rampant, fans across the globe have been busy theorizing which actor might step into the trademark tuxedo of England’s most dashing superspy.
More recently, Spider-Man‘s Tom Holland – a potential frontrunner for the role – openly addressed the 007 casting rumors on Gordon Ramsay’s YouTube channel.
At one point in the conversation, the 58-year-old Ramsay asked Holland, “Ever thought about using the word James with future movies going forward?”
In response, Holland laughingly responded, “We’ll keep it to a minimum for now. We’ll get there one day.”
After the initial banter around the subject died down, the Hell’s Kitchen chef took on a more direct tone in discussing Holland’s potential future in the James Bond series.
“Seriously, can you imagine what’s going to happen to your life if you [take over the role of James Bond?” Ramsay asked. “You’d love the opportunity, right?”
“Every young British actor, it’s the pinnacle of working in our industry,” observed the 29-year-old Marvel actor. “I already consider myself to be the luckiest kid alive, you know? I could never have dreamed to have the career that I’ve had.”
For the time being, Holland revealed he’s content to remain busy working on Marvel films, with the Uncharted star currently set to return as the MCU’s famed webslinger in 2026’s upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Meanwhile, Dune director Denis Villeneuve is moving forward with his plans to produce the next installment of the James Bond series with Amazon Prime. In a promising new development for the film, Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has recently signed on to provide the movie’s official script, putting the 007 project one step closer to completion.
“It has always been on my bucket list and it’s fantastic to be invited to do it,” Knight said in a recent interview with BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast. “I can’t wait to get started.”
