Neil Diamond is being honored with a major career achievement—and it has nothing to do with his illustrious music career.
The legendary artist and songwriter will be given the inspirational Lifetime Achievement Award by the Children’s Diabetes Foundation (CDF) at The 39th Annual Carousel Ball on October 11, 2025, in Denver.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member will be one of only three to ever receive the awards across the organization’s five-decade history “for his remarkable legacy, heartfelt generosity and unwavering dedication to CDF,” per the press release shared with Parade.
“It’s been my absolute joy to have supported the Children’s Diabetes Foundation for so many wonderful years. Barbara Davis and her organization have done an immense amount of good helping kids, adults and their families facing a difficult diagnosis,” Diamond, who joins Sidney Poitier and Diane Warren, recipients of the award in 2016 and 2024, respectively, said. “I’m looking forward to celebrating all the progress that’s been made and bringing awareness to the important work ahead, including finding a cure that so many are in need today.”
“Neil Diamond is a once-in-a-generation talent. As a best-selling recording artist the world over, he is an undeniable force whose songwriting has earned him countless musical accolades. At this year’s Carousel Ball, we have the profound honor of recognizing Neil for another of his many talents: his generous spirit. For over 35 years, Neil has lent his timeless voice to our efforts to find a cure for diabetes. On behalf of the patients and researchers his generosity has touched, we can’t think of anyone more deserving of our Inspirational Lifetime Achievement Award,” said event chair Dana Davis and honorary chair Barbara Davis. “We’re also proud to recognize the MacMillan family, who have been a critical part of our efforts to help propel the Children’s Diabetes Foundation into a leading agent of change for type 1 diabetes.
The “Sweet Caroline” crooner, who has served on CDF’s Advisory Board for years, is set to accept the awards at CDF’s biennial gala, presented by Dexcom, where the MacMillan Family will also be recognized with the High Hopes Tribute for nearly three decades of commitment to CDF.
Hailed as the global leader in glucose biosensing, Dexcom is working with CDF, the organization behind the event, which has brought together the biggest names in Hollywood yearly to increase awareness for type 1 diabetes for almost 40 years and raises money for care and research.
Proceeds from The Carousel Ball benefit CDF and “focus on patient support, awareness and diabetes research.” You can purchase tickets here.
The GRAMMY Award-winning artist retired from touring and performing in 2018 at 76 after announcing his Parkinson’s diagnosis.
