Don’t hold your breath for a double date featuring Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and her husband, Brian Hallisay. That would be a great way to end the seemingly nonstop rumors about a feud between Gellar and Hewitt, but it doesn’t sound like it’s in the cards.
After hitting the red carpet for the I Know What You Did Last Summer revival premiere in Los Angeles on July 14, in which Prinze Jr. and Hewitt star as Ray Bronson and Julie James, those feud rumors heated up so much that Gellar addressed them, sharing why she and Hewitt didn’t take any photos together on the red carpet (Hewitt has previously denied an issue between the women, but the rumors persist).

Now, Prinze Jr., who enjoys close friendships with former co-stars including Rachel Leigh Cookand Matthew Lillard, has weighed in on where he stands with Hewitt.
While speaking to Men’s Health last week, Prinze Jr. said, “Sometimes you go to work with people and you don’t have a ton in common with them. We were always cool and we would crack jokes and talk on set, but we never were like, ‘Hey, let’s trade numbers and go on a hike.'”
“We run in different circles, so we just didn’t have that kind of a relationship. We were always professional and cool with each other, but we just weren’t bros.”
He continued, “I don’t have her phone number, so it’s not like we were talking like, ‘Hey, what do you want to do with these characters? What do you think?’ ‘I don’t know. What do you think?’ ‘I’m nervous, I’m scared, I’m excited.’ None of that stuff happened, but I figured she would be on board when I heard the idea [of the reboot].”
