Jason Momoa Looks Nearly Unrecognizable After Transformation for New Role originally appeared on Parade.
Jason Momoa took to social media to debut a new look, and it immediately generated a lot of buzz. The Aquaman and A Minecraft Movie star shared that this was the first time in six years he had made this particular change to his appearance, and he was nearly unrecognizable.
Momoa took to Instagram on July 30 to document his transformation. While working on shaving off his beard and mustache, the actor talked about the water company he created and continues to be passionate about.
“Haven’t shaved in six years, and here we are again,” he wrote in the caption. As he shaved, Momoa talked about Mananalu, the bottled water company he founded.
Momoa’s Mananalu has partnered with Boomerang Water, and the goal is to “help eliminate single-use plastic.”
In the caption of his post, Momoa wrote, “Let’s get rid of single-use plastic. For our children and for our planet.”
Shots of Momoa shaving were combined with video clips highlighting the water company and its efforts. Momoa talked about launching the company right about the same time he starred in Dune, which was six years ago.

Once he had one side of his beard shaved off, Momoa looked as chuckled as he said, “Aw, man.”
As he took in the final results, he admitted he hated it. He mentioned this was the “kick-off” for Dune: Part3. Momoa quipped, “Only for you, Denis,” referring to Dune filmmaker Denis Villeneuve.
Variety noted that in addition to Momoa returning for the third installment of the Dune movie series, Zendaya, Timothée Chalamet, and Florence Pugh will be back as well.
Momoa’s son, Nakoa-Wolf Momoa, whom he had with his former wife, Lisa Bonet, also has a role in the film.
Fans of Momoa’s responded positively to his clean-shaven look. Many left comments filled with emojis of red hearts, clapping hands, and additional positive icons.
One fan wrote, “SO HANDSOME!!!”
