This country music icon is used to fans laying “A Whole Lot of Love” on her, but a spontaneous moment at a recent concert went above and beyond.
Country music legend Shania Twain, 59, is no stranger to a packed venue, but even she, it seems, is not immune to concert “firsts.”
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Twain shared a video from a show in Jacksonville, Florida on Tuesday night. In the video she pulls two overjoyed superfans onstage. In the caption Twain wrote, “These two were holding up a ‘we named our baby Shania’ sign.” The caption continued, “I just had to get them up on stage with me and boy am I glad I did!”
The moment clearly meant everything to the couple, who took the mic to thank their country idol and share what she meant to them.
“We named our daughter Shania after you, we love you so much,” the woman said into the microphone.
The crowd went wild for what followed: a love story made in Shania heaven. The man took the microphone to say, “she married me because I bought her tickets to your show,” referring to Twain’s Vegas residency. The couple then revealed they were both army veterans, and that the woman had been introduced to Twain when she was a toddler by her grandfather, who was in the audience. The adoring audience cheered at the top of their lungs as the man raised up the sign with his daughter’s name on it.

Fans on Instagram, where the post had over a thousand likes within an hour of its posting, were just as blown away by the love story and the country superstar’s sweet response as those who were at the concert in person.
“So memorable. So Iconic!” one fan commented.
“Such a beautiful honour!” wrote another, adding, “You deserve all the love, Shania, because that’s what you’ve been showing to us all!”
Certainly Twain proved that her fame has in no way gotten in the way of her big heart.
“Your joy is so beautiful,” she told the couple in the video, genuine emotion filling her face.
“Their energy was everything!!” Twain wrote at the end of her post. “More of this at tonight’s show please Jacksonville!”
