James Maslow is adding a new title to his résumé.
On Wednesday, May 14, the Big Time Rush member, 34, announced that he and his girlfriend Caitlin Spears are engaged.
“Forever sounds good with you ❤️💍🥂,” the singer wrote in a joint Instagram post with his now-fiancée, 30, featuring photos from the proposal.
One photo shows Maslow on one knee, gazing into his future wife’s eyes. In another, the two are seen smiling from ear to ear as Maslow dips Spears for a fun spin. In the third image, Spears admires her new ring, while Maslow wraps his arms around her. For the last photo, the two share a kiss while holding champagne glasses.

Maslow looked dapper for the special moment, wearing a blue suit with a white collared tee and matching loafers. He accessorized the look with a statement watch and a white pocket square. Spears radiated beauty in a white sundress with light brown heels.
While the social media upload location was tagged as Cetara, Italy, Maslow told Us Weekly that the proposal occurred in the travel hotspot’s Hotel Cetus on Thursday, May 8.
“I wanted this moment to be 100 percent about Caitlin, so I booked a trip to the Amalfi Coast for just us, told (almost) nobody, and enlisted the help of a random hotel and a few other Italian strangers to pull off a pretty amazing and romantic moment, if I do say so myself,” he told the outlet.
Maslow, who first began sharing photos from their vacation to the Amalfi Coast on Sunday, May 11, said that following the proposal, “the rest of the vacation has finally felt like a vacation for me now too.”
Being proposed to came as a surprise for Spears, who said she was “so shocked” that Maslow was able to pull everything off without her knowing.

“It was truly a breathtaking moment and one of the most magical moments of my life. He did good… very good,” she told Us Weekly.

The two first appeared on each other’s Instagram pages in 2019, per the outlet. In April 2020, Maslow marked their one-year anniversary in a romantic Instagram post where he referred to Spears as a “beautiful girl” and cheered to “many more adventures” together.
