Supermodel Heidi Klum was turning heads at the Opening Ceremony and “Partir Un Jour” (Leave One Day) Red Carpet at the 78th annual Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday, May 13.

The statuesque beauty strutted her stuff in a strapless pink ruffled gown that features a slit on the left leg practically up to her hip. On Instagram, Klum posted a preview of her gown laid out behind her as she gazed over her hotel room balcony, and fans were going nuts.

“Wow Gorgeous heidi wooow 🌺🌷🪷,” wrote one fan.

Another added, “Sister, you’ve been so fierce in that dress 😍🌺 delivered in Cannes everything that DID NOT deliver at the Met Gala.”

“😍my dream dress, worn by a beautiful dream woman! ❤️🙌,” wrote a third fan.

We do wonder if there are different rules for the opening ceremony, since the Cannes Film Festival dress code for movie screenings strictly prohibits “voluminous outfits,” such as gowns with a long train like Klum’s because they “hinder the proper flow of traffic of guests and complicate seating.” The dress code also specifically says no nudity, so that might explain why Klum was holding on to the top of her slit while she walked the red carpet — wouldn’t want any accidental wardrobe malfunctions.

The rather strict dress code reads:

“[For screenings] evening wear (long dress, tuxedo) is required. Alternatively, you may also wear “a little black dress,” a cocktail dress, a dark-colored pantsuit, a dressy top with black pants; elegant shoes and sandals with or without a heel (no sneakers); a black or navy-blue suit with bow-tie or dark-colored tie. Tote-bags, backpacks or large bags are prohibited during gala screenings. Lockers, open until 12:30 a.m. are available near the Gare Maritime. For decency reasons, nudity is prohibited on the Red Carpet, as well as in any other area of the Festival. Voluminous outfits, in particular those with a large train, that hinder the proper flow of traffic of guests and complicate seating in the theater are not permitted. The Festival welcoming teams will be obligated to prohibit Red Carpet access to anyone not respecting these rules.”

The 2025 Cannes Film Festival runs from Tuesday, May 13 to Saturday, May 24, 2025 in Cannes, France.
