Meredith Hayden is living proof that maybe you should meet your idols after all.
The cooking influencer behind Wishbone Kitchen has established herself as her generation’s Martha Stewart, but on Thursday, Aug. 14, the two lifestyle gurus finally found themselves on the same lawn. Hayden, 29, attended a sunny celebration of Stewart, 84, and her latest cover story in Hamptons Magazine.
The younger cookbook author posted a carousel of Instagram photos from the event, which was hosted at the Hedges Inn in East Hampton. The first slide sees a denim-clad Hayden and her idol smiling side-by-side, with Stewart draped in a lime green dress.

In another snap from Hayden’s post, the duo appears to be discussing Stewart’s bold ensemble, which she accessorized with a layered gold necklace. Hayden also shared a video of them chatting at the party on her Instagram Stories.
Stewart clearly enjoyed their time together, too, as she expressed in response to Hayden’s set of photos. “You are darling to have come to our event as well as to have posted it!!!!!!” the TV star commented.
In a TikTok, she shared more of their interaction with a cute clip of them conversing at the event. In the overlay text, she continued to show her excitement as she wrote, “you guys it happened” alongside a teary-eyed emoji. She followed up in the caption, calling Stewart “the blueprint.”
The social media personality kept her Instagram caption simple, writing, “My queen 🤭💗,” but her 1.4 million Instagram followers were quick to recognize just how much the milestone meet-up meant to Hayden.
“Omg I’m so happy for you,” one user said in the comments. Fellow social media foodie Aymara Lucero added, “Well, you manifested this from day one!”

Indeed, Hayden has taken many opportunities to talk about her love and admiration of Stewart, as well as other role models like Ina Garten. In her cover story for PEOPLE’s 2025 Spring Entertaining issue, Hayden said she “literally modeled my career off of” Stewart and Garten’s trailblazing work.
The viral chef noted that she’s not the only person drawing comparisons to the hospitality mogul. “People are always like, ‘Oh, she’s so Martha.’ Because I’m blonde and from New Jersey, and I like to cook and have dinner parties,” Hayden told PEOPLE.
