NEED TO KNOW

  • Zach Bryan said he “will never play in Kansas City” while feuding with Kansas City Chiefs fans on X on Aug. 8

  • The Philadelphia Eagles fan reignited his beef with Chiefs supporters with a post about the team’s loss to the Eagles in the 2025 Super Bowl

  • Bryan previously made headlines for his X posts after sharing a controversial post about Taylor Swift, which also included a comment about the Eagles-Chiefs beef

Zach Bryan fans living in Kansas City may have a drive ahead of them next time they want to hear the star live.

The country singer-songwriter (and vocal Philadelphia Eagles fan) decided to take aim at the Kansas City Chiefs’ massive fanbase on Friday, Aug. 8. Specifically, Bryan, 29, dredged up Chiefs supporters’ previous hope that the Missouri team would become the first in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls — a hope that was snuffed out with February’s loss to the Eagles.

“Where are all the three peat people from last year:/,” the singer wrote in an X post shared on Aug. 8.

The response was mixed, to say the least.

Shortly after, one X user became embroiled in a heated debate about Bryan’s comments, telling a different user that the singer has “singled out” the “same fanbase that sells out his shows.” Bryan’s response? To reveal that he has no plans to perform in Chiefs territory any time soon — or ever.

“Please understand I will never play in Kansas City,” the musician wrote alongside a repost of the user’s comment. (He has previously played in the Missouri city several times, in 2021, 2023 and 2024.)

In a follow-up, Bryan added another jab at the Chiefs, writing: “I’ll be about to finish my show and then get a taunting call if I play at that stadium.”

The same user then asked the singer to “take us off your live album too,” seemingly referring to the track “Fifth of May – Live from Kansas City” from record 24 (Live). Bryan responded by saying that he would oblige.

“Done brother,” the country star replied to the user’s request. (As of writing on Sunday, Aug. 10, the track is still available to stream on Spotify.)

The “Something in the Orange” singer went on to share several more posts on the subject, seemingly reveling in the strong reaction to his previous statements. “I missed it here guys let’s piss some people off,” he said in an X post, also shared Aug. 8, which he quickly followed up with another: “Bro all u have to do to piss off a chiefs fan is play a fair game of football.”

“Guys it’s okay to talk trash to each other about football [y’all] are weird as hell,” he later added in another post.

Bryan previously made headlines for his X posts — and for subsequently deactivating his X account — last year after taking aim at one of the most well-known Chiefs fans in the world: Taylor Swift.

In September 2024, the “Pink Skies” singer apologized after comparing Swift to Kanye West in a controversial X post. “Eagles > chiefs,” he wrote. “Kanye > Taylor.” He concluded by asking his fans “who’s with me,” but later deleted the post and claimed he was drunk when he shared it while apologizing in a series of Instagram Stories posts.

“For the record guys I wasn’t coming for Taylor the other night,” Bryan wrote at the time. “I was drunkenly comparing two records and it came out wrong. I know there’s a lot of stuff that clouds around Ye and I was speaking purely musically. I love Taylor’s music and pray you guys know I’m human and tweet stupid things often. Hope one day I can explain this to her. Twitter gets me in trouble too much and I’d say it’s best I stay off it. I’m sorry to any Taylor fans I pissed off or let down. Love you guys and I’m trying my best!”

In another Instagram Stories post, the “I Remember Everything” musician continued his explanation, stating that he was “going through a hard time” in his own life.

“I think I was projecting a little,” he wrote. “To be completely honest, it just came off as rude and desensitized to Taylor. I respect her so much as a musician that the last thing I want is people thinking I don’t appreciate and love what she has done for music. Okay, that’s the last of it! Love you guys and hope you guys understand.”

Added Bryan: “Don’t drink and tweet!!”
