Kim Kardashian is trying a bold new hair transformation ahead of fall — one that’s both a bit unexpected for the season and also, at the same time, one of her favorite looks over the years.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 44, took to social media to show off her new bleach blonde hair, which she snapped a selfie of as she was in the middle of styling it.
“About that time,” she wrote alongside the image of herself with a clip hanging from several strands of her new ‘do, which was also done on one side in several braids. She also included a blonde girl emoji at the beginning of her caption to hammer the moment home. The KKW Beauty founder has been rocking some dark long locks as of late, but now her hair is more of an ash-bleached blonde with dark roots.
There are also several sets of hair extensions behind her in the image. That definitely leads us to believe the hair transformation is probably an actual dye job versus a wig, and the extensions are probably part of an attempt to style the look for an event or a shoot.
That said, this definitely wouldn’t be the first time the Skims founder has dyed her hair blonde recently — or in general.
Kim last rocked an all-blonde hairdo for the 2024 Met Gala last May, which accompanied her silver corset dress from Margiela by John Galliano and matching grey sweater look. In 2023, she took on a different shade of blonde when she went for a honey blonde look for the GQ Men of the Year event.
In perhaps one of her best known blonde looks at this point, Kim went platinum for the 2022 Met Gala, where she honored iconic Hollywood starlet Marilyn Monroe by wearing the exact dress she wore to sing “Happy Birthday” to former president John F. Kennedy in 1962.
Her hairstylist, Chris Appleton, revealed at the time that her bright blonde locks were also a tribute to Monroe.”The hair look was simple to highlight the platinum color, giving the hair color and dress the attention,” Appleton told Vogue of the style, which took 14 hours to achieve. “I wanted it to be iconic to Marilyn, but also iconic to Kim when she has her blonde moment.”
