Annie Potts, who played Meemaw on Young Sheldon, among other prolific roles throughout her long career, shared a health update on May 9—just a few weeks after undergoing back surgery.

The 72-year-old shared a clip of herself walking on a treadmill for physical therapy, saying, “I’m back!” in the caption. She told fans, “Just three weeks after spinal fusion and anterior plate or something, I don’t know…and I’m back on a treadmill.”

She joked, “I’m almost 100% bionic now.” Potts looked great in the new video, noting that she would try the elliptical machine next.

Fans cheered on the actress, writing comments like, “You are amazing, Annie. An inspiration to us all. You get better, girl! 💪🏻😊💞,” and “Awesome Job Annie!! You Look Great at 72!! ❤️❤️🙏🙏.”

“Yay glad to see you are doing well 😍,” wrote a third fan.

Potts has been very open about her health struggles over the years, saying in an August 2024 video that she has undergone numerous surgeries in the aftermath of a car accident that occurred over 50 years ago. When she posted the video, she was getting one of her knees replaced for the second time.

“It’s something like my 25th or 26th surgery, I’ve kind of lost count,” she said in the clip, before recounting the accident when teenagers under the influence of alcohol were drag racing and hit her.

“I broke every bone below my waist but one,” Potts recalled. “So I’ve been trying to put myself back together for 50 years.”
