Wynonna Judd took her red carpet aesthetic to a new level at the 2025 Academy of Country Music awards.

The 60-year-old country star glittered in a fitted black blazer with sheer, billowing sleeves when arriving at the awards show in Frisco, Texas, on Thursday, May 8. While Judd is known for her love of all-black looks on the red carpet, it’s the little details that set this ensemble apart from the rest.

While the body of Judd’s double-breasted coat appeared to be satin, the ’60s-inspired sheer sleeves looked like more of a lacy fabric, with intricate black appliqués and bedazzled rhinestones dotting every inch. Her flared pants mirrored the sleeves of the ensemble, both in material and shape.

As for the rest of her look, the five-time Grammy winner wore her trademark scarlet locks in loose curls that cascaded over her shoulders, her heavy fringe reaching her lashes. (Judd’s dark eye makeup only helped to accentuate the drama of her ensemble.)

Judd will present at the awards show as well as perform in the opening number honoring the ACMs’ 60 years of music — alongside such top country performers as Reba McEntire,LeAnn Rimes and more.

Reminiscing about her career ahead of her upcoming performance, Judd told Country Now, “It doesn’t get any better than this. It just doesn’t,” she said of opening Thursday night’s awards show. “It’s like I’ve done everything twice. I started out on the back end of a pickup truck singing at rodeos in Texas and here I am in a suite getting room service and looking at my rhinestones and thinking, how in the world did I get here? And I’m still here. It’s unbelievable.”

As for her own favorite moment from ACMs past, the “Mama He’s Crazy” singer — whose mother and longtime singing partner, Naomi Judd, died by suicide in April 2022 — shared a poignant mother-daughter memory with the outlet.

“My mom and I singing ‘Young Love’ in the audience, looking at Tanya Tucker weeping is one of my memories,” Wynonna recalled. “We connected with her on some level that was just out of this world.”
