Details of the complications one woman experienced following a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure have raised a stink—literally—on social media after her story went viral.
In a series of videos, TikToker @kaymontana24 opened up about the physical and emotional toll her BBL took on her life, including a lingering “rotten” odor that ultimately led to the end of her relationship—and having the procedure surgically reversed.
“That BBL really ruined my life,” she said. “My sit-down air was stinking real real bad… to the point where I had to carry a bottle of air freshener.”
The woman explained that the source of the smell wasn’t poor hygiene, but persistent leakage from her incisions, which failed to properly heal. She said her body rejected the procedure, leaving open wounds that continuously drained foul-smelling fluid—so that the stench lingered on her clothes, linens, and even fresh laundry.
“When I would take my clothes out the dryer, they would still smell like that rot-eaten flesh,” she said. “The smell would linger, it was an embarrassment.”
Her boyfriend allegedly tried to warn her, but she said she didn’t believe him until it was too late.
“He kept saying, ‘You’re stinking real bad down there and I can’t stomach it.’ I thought he was hating… but it was the truth.”
The video series sparked both support and surprisingly intense backlash online. While some viewers appreciated the transparency and honesty, others—particularly members of the so-called “BBL community”—accused her of fearmongering and exaggeration. She said the harassment got so intense that she considered deleting all her content altogether.
“The BBL tribe don’t play,” she said in a follow-up post. “They’re calling me nasty, reporting my videos, saying I didn’t wash properly. But I’m telling you—it was coming from the incision. It f**king stinks.”
She later clarified that not all BBLs smell, but warned that if the body rejects the fat transfer and wounds remain open, drainage can become chronic and foul-smelling. “I was just telling my story,” she said. “I have women in my inbox saying it happened to them too.”
Now, four years after having her BBL surgically removed, she says she regrets the decision to get one in the first place.
“Stay away from them,” she warned. “I don’t know if you want me to get on here and say BBLs smell good—but they f**king stink.”
