Valerie Bertinelli is feeling “contented” as well as “proud,” and “grateful” after getting the chance to do her “favorite thing in the world” — watch her son Wolfgang Van Halen perform onstage

On Thursday, Aug. 28, the Food Network alum, 65, took to Instagram to reveal that she had gotten a chance to see her son Wolfgang Van Halen, 34, perform onstage with his band Mammoth.
“Color me contented 😌,” Bertinelli wrote in the caption of a post that featured a selfie she took while seemingly lying down after the show. “Did my favorite thing in the world tonight. Got to watch my son kill it on stage.”

Continuing her comment, Bertinelli wrote “Happy ✔️ Proud ✔️ Grateful ✔️.”
The acclaimed chef also included a video of Mammoth performing. In it, her son appeared to be standing center stage playing an electric green guitar while wearing a hot pink shirt.
Mammoth’s show took place at the SNHU Arena on Aug. 28 in Manchester, N.H. It comes as the group is gearing up to drop their new album The End on Oct. 24. A July post on Van Halen’s Instagram about the album notes that the musician “continues to separate Mammoth from the pack” with the new release.

The son of Eddie Van Halen is set to embark upon an accompanying tour, which kicks off in Rancho Mirage, Calif. on Oct. 31, days after the album arrives.
Bertinelli has been outspoken about her support of her son. In fact, she even appeared in the horror-themed music video for the band’s song “The End” back in May.
The project gave her a chance to get down with her wild side as she was able to throw a punch onscreen for the first time ever.
“A ridiculous amount of fun was had for two days,” she wrote about the opportunity on Instagram.

Her thoughts about getting in a fight? “So much f—— fun!” Bertinelli gushed. However, she was quick to give credit to her son for making it all possible.
“So proud of you, @wolfvanhalen it all started with you writing this kick ass song. ♥️” she wrote.
Another person that she thought would be proud of Wolfgang was his great-great-grandma after he performed a show in Scranton, Pa.

“Lackawanna County is where Wolfie’s great great grandmother settled when she came here from Italy in 1915 and now look at him,” Bertinelli wrote in a post on her Instagram Stories. “She would be so proud.”
In August, Bertinelli reflected on what Eddie, who died from cancer at the age of 65 in 2020, would think about his son.

“Who do I yap to when there was really only one person I could talk to about Wolfie the way that we did?” she pondered on Instagram. “The pride we both felt. Still feel. I’m grateful for where we landed. Through the ups and the downs to still alight where we did is a blessing.”
Reflecting on their son’s career and Eddie’s own musical legacy, she wrote that he’d be “so proud of Wolf.”
“I know we’d be screaming together in the stands watching him on stage. Seeing who could whistle the loudest. I will never not miss being able to experience that with you,” she added.
Bertinelli’s post opened with the heartfelt realization, “Some days I really do miss you.”
