On May 13, stars from all over the world gathered in France for the opening ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival, including model Bella Hadid.
The 28-year-old, who is known for her jaw-dropping Cannes red carpet looks each year, debuted a stunning but surprising new look that left her practically unrecognizable.

For the opening ceremony and screening of the film Partir Un Jour, Hadid looked amazing in a risqué yet elegant black dress that featured an open back and a high slit on her right side.
While the dress itself was a knockout, Hadid also drew attention with her new hair, as the model exchanged her usual dark brown color for a long blonde look. It was unclear if Hadid dyed her actual hair or was wearing a wig, although she was also spotted rocking the lighter color the day before.
Video of Hadid’s appearance at Cannes was shared by E! Newson social media, and fans shared their stunned reactions to the transformation. “Blonde is sooo cool 💜💜,” wrote one fan, while more said, “She’s so gorgeoussss,” and, “She is the queen of festival!!! 🤩.”
Some were reminded of a couple of other well-known models, including Hadid’s older sister Gigi, who tends to keep her hair blonde: “She looks like her sister. I was confused the first time I saw this post.”
“She’s also giving a little Giselle here,” said another, likely referring to supermodel Gisele Bündchen.
