Tracee Ellis Ross brought some color to the 2025 Met Gala, donning a statement-making Marc Jacobs outfit.
The all-satin outfit—featuring puffy baby pink pants, a magenta bow belt, ruched white blouse and a maroon suit jacket, paired with an oversized fedora—was called a “risk” by fans online. Did it pay off? The internet seems to be divided with mixed opinions pouring in.

“This is so cute omg!!!!” one fan noted, as others said the look was “not it.”
“She understood the assignment,” someone else chimed in, as another suggested that only Tracee could pull off something this eccentric, stating, “Only Tracee can do this and look this good!”
“You know she loves a good pant,” another declared.
The Ross family made sure to turn heads at the red carpet, as Tracee’s mother, musical icon Diana Ross, made her grand return to the Met Gala in over 20 years with a larger-than-life dress that stopped everyone in their tracks.
The 81-year-old diva commanded the room when she arrived in a crystal-embellished gown with a feather boa shawl-turned-train that dramatically trailed behind her, covering roughly seven carpeted steps. Not only did she design the dress herself, but the cape featured the embroidered names of all her children and grandchildren.
Helmed by Vogue’s Anna Wintour and benefiting the NYC museum’s Costume Institute, this year’s theme was titled “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”
