There’s still plenty of mystery around the expansion of creator Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe. While we know of multiple spinoffs in the works, so far, substantive details have remained scant.
The Rip and Beth centered series may or may not be titled Dutton Ranch (depending on who you ask), but beyond a tentative 2026 air date almost nothing else is known about its plans. Even The Madison, the Michelle Pfeiffer-starring spinoff that was announced over a year ago and reportedly absorbed much of the flagship series’s behind-the-scenes team at the end of 2024, remains a question mark, with no trailers or any rumors of a forthcoming debut.
However, it looks like things are beginning to take shape for another entry into the Yellowstone universe: The Luke Grimes-led CBS series Y: Marshals, centered on Grimes’s Kayce Dutton. The series, which was confirmed in May 2025, has added its first new cast member with a particularly apt name: Logan Marshall-Green.
The actor, who recently appeared as a guest star across multiple episodes of the Sex and the City revival And Just Like That, will reportedly play Pete Calvin, a friend of Kayce’s from his military service. Given that the official series synopsis has Kayce joining “an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence,” this could suggest a significant role for Marshall-Green as one of Kayce’s team.
Y: Marshals is currently expected to debut on CBS some time in early 2026, with filming likely to begin in the late summer or fall, so we can only keep our fingers crossed that more exciting Dutton news is on the way.
