The Voice‘s Adam David and coach Michael Bublé are unstoppable!

Moments after David was named the season 27 winner of the singing competition show on Tuesday, May 20,, the winning duo caught up with PEOPLE to reflect on their victory.

When asked what he’ll do to celebrate, David, 34, says he’ll “have dinner with my mom and calm myself down somehow… I’m going to have to process all of this.”

“I’m not going to sleep,” Bublé, 49, who marked his second consecutive victory, adds. “You know what? This is personal for me because honestly, when the cameras shut off, we’re friends. He’s such a good dude. I won’t sleep.”

The night before finale, the Canadian singer couldn’t sleep from the nerves, he says. Now, he’s grateful “America votes with integrity” and “they saw what I saw.” During David’s blind audition, Bublé was the only coach to turn his chair, but he continued to believe in him throughout the season — and it paid off.

“I’ll be grateful for the rest of my life,” David says to his coach. “You’ve given me such a huge opportunity. Being here was a major opportunity, but with this win, y’all have given me a real chance at making my dreams come true.”

Having that belief and support from the “Home” singer made all the difference for David, who says he suffers from imposter syndrome at times.

“I struggle with the imposter syndrome and have since I could remember,” he says. “I think with Michael’s belief from the beginning, I’ve been working that muscle. I’ve learned that belief is a muscle. It’s a choice. And some days it’s heavier. Sometimes it’s easier to lift.”

David also recalls a time when he was “nervous backstage” and Bublé FaceTimed him to calm him down.

“He had all the talent, all of it, all the ambitions, all of the unique ability. And all I ever did was just, I wasn’t coach. I was a buddy, man,” Bublé says.

Adding, “Not all of our conversations are music, which is amazing. Life is hard for everybody. And it doesn’t matter… People are just people. Life is hard. I got four beautiful kids and people ain’t going to remember my music, but when I’m gone, I hope they remember that their poppy was a good guy.”

Moments before David was named the winner, the “Feeling Good” singer gave him some words of encouragement.

“I love you, man,” Bublé told David. “You’re my kind of artist… Congratulations, I knew you’d get here.”

David beat out fellow Team Bublé contestant Jadyn Cree, Team Ballerini’s Jaelen Johnston, Team Levine’s Lucia Flores Wiseman and Team Legend’s RENZO.
