The Sound of Music is such an iconic film that has touched the hearts of so many people over the years, myself included. It’s been my absolute favorite movie since I was 5 years old, and I never tire of watching it (and singing right along)!
The actors who played the Von Trapp children might be all grown up today, but the impression they left on our hearts continues to live on.
Actress Angela Cartwright, who played Brigitta, (standing directly next to Julie Andrews in the photo above) one of the middle daughters, is now 72 years old, but she’s just as stunning as ever. She’s fairly active on Instagram, and on August 4, she shared rare photos of herself with her lookalike older sister, Veronica Cartwright, 76.
People can’t get over just how much they resemble each other, to the point where they honestly could pass as twins.
Cartwright captioned the images with, “Look who came for a visit! We had a blast. We walked. We shopped. We ate. We drank. We laughed. She came with a smile and some stories to tell and left with a hat a set of dishes and a pair of ostrich boots. ❤️ ya sis.”

One person who saw the pictures said, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pic of the two of you together!”
Many other people noted just how much they look alike, with one saying, “Twinsies!”

Another exclaimed, “Two Sisters of Sci-fi!!”
In addition to The Sound of Music, Angela is well-known for her role as Penny Robinson on the 1960s TV show, Lost in Space.
Veronica, on the other hand, was a child sci-fi and horror movie star. Three of her most notable roles include Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Alien, and The Birds. She also starred in the mystery film, The Children’s Hour.
It’s always so lovely to see siblings enjoying each other’s company later in life, and based on the photos, it looks like Angela and Veronica are as close as can be, which is just wonderful.
