Brooke Hogan’s husband Steven Oleksy is speaking out against AI-generated videos claiming to be from them about the death of her father, Hulk Hogan.

Oleksy, 39, posted an Instagram Story on Tuesday, July 29 confirming that neither he nor his wife — who has been estranged from her father since his wedding to Sky Daily in 2023 — have made statements about the WWE star’s death. Olesky said that since Hogan’s death on Thursday, they have been grieving “privately.”

“My wife and I have not released any official statement about the death of my father in law. We are grieving and processing privately and ask for the respect to do so,” the former NHL player wrote.

“If you see or hear something it did not come from us. There are many disturbing AI videos circulating that do not represent our family, feelings or opinions,” continued Oleksy, who married Brooke in 2022 and welcomed twins with her this past January.

He concluded the post by thanking his followers for the “love, support, and understanding” as they continue to grieve the loss of Hulk.

Oleksy has previously posted one mention of Hulk since his passing, and on Thursday reposted a tribute to the WWE legend shared by their family friend Ashley Kora, remembering him as “Brooke’s dad” instead of the public figure the world knew him to be. Kora said Brooke, “loved him deeply, was fiercely loyal and only ever wanted him to be peaceful, happy and surrounded by people who valued him for who he really was.”

Kora said Hulk “chose differently for himself, but we can still remember him as a doting father to a little girl with big dreams and a bigger heart.”

Resharing Kora’s Story, Oleksy thanked her for the thoughtful tribute for his “beautiful” wife during “this challenging time” for his family.

Brooke is the daughter of Hulk (whose real name is Terry Bollea) and Linda Hogan, whom he was married to from 1983 until 2009. They also share son Nick, born in July 1990. The Hogan Knows Best star then married Jennifer McDaniel in 2010 before filing for divorce in 2021.

First responders were called to Hogan’s home for a reported cardiac arrest at 9:51 a.m. on July 24, where they spent 30 minutes attempting to revive the WWE star before he was moved to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

While widely celebrated for his wrestling accomplishments, Hogan also faced multiple controversies in recent years. He received backlash for his speech in support of President Donald Trump at the 2024 Republican National Convention, and after a racist rant leaked in 2015 — which he later called “unacceptable” in an apology — Hogan was removed from WWE’s Hall of Fame. Hogan also sued Gawker for $100 million, backed by billionaire Peter Thiel, over a leaked 2012 sex tape and settled for $31 million in 2016.
