Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce weren’t the stars in need of support systems after their big games last season.
Following the Kansas City Chief’s AFC Championship win in January, Taylor Swift — who is Kelce’s girlfriend, as many know — was spotted running into the arms of former soccer player Brittany Mahomes, the Chiefs quarterback’s wife.
The tender moments are chronicled in ESPN’s new docuseries The Kingdom, as Us reported. In episode 5, Swift, 35, embraces Brittany, 29, for an emotional hug after the Chiefs’ title victory.
The billionaire pop star also had some heartfelt words for the Kansas City Current co-owner, since Brittany had been there all the along the way for Swift as they watched the Chiefs’ grueling 2024 season.
“You kept me so calm the last couple weeks,” Swift told Brittany, as captured in The Kingdom.
Another support system of Swift’s ultimately joined the long post-game hug: Travis’ mother Donna Kelce. When she arrived, Swift continued to detail Brittany’s importance in the “Lover” singer’s life during the NFL season.
“I did not know what to do. I’d just text Brittany,” Swift told Donna, 72. “I’d be like, ‘Tell me it’s going to be OK. Tell me it’s going to be OK.'”
“I always knew it was going to be OK,” Brittany replied.
In the emotional moment, Swift then asks if she can “get in the middle” of Brittany and Donna for an epic three-way hug while the on-field celebration continued on all around them.
“My two pillars of support,” Swift said.
The Chiefs’ victory in January over the Buffalo Bills secured their spot in Super Bowl LIX, where they were then defeated by the Philadelphia Eagles, 40-22. Kansas City could have become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
The first two episodes of The Kingdom are available on ESPN+, with episodes 3 and 4 premiering Tuesday, Aug. 19. Episodes 5 and 6 will premiere Wednesday, Aug. 20, on ESPN.
