The pop superstar just announced her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, arriving October 3 with a complete visual transformation that has fans decoding every little detail.
Swift unveiled the news during a surprise appearance on boyfriend Travis Kelce‘s podcast “New Heights,” which he co-hosts with brother Jason Kelce.
The timing seemingly wasn’t coincidental — the episode dropped on August 13, Swift’s lucky number, setting the stage for an album release date that’s pure Swift mathematics; October 3 (10/3) adds up to her beloved number 13.
The album announcement came with five stunning photos that showcase Swift’s most revealing looks to date. The cover art, shot by fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, features Swift partially submerged in water wearing a crystal-embellished Area dress.
“My day ends with me in a bathtub, not usually in a bedazzled dress,” Swift joked during the podcast appearance.
However, it’s Swift’s dramatic hair transformation that’s stealing the spotlight. In one photo, her signature blonde locks are replaced by a short black bob that makes her nearly unrecognizable.
The bold new look appears alongside a custom costume featuring pink ostrich feathers, reportedly created by luxury fashion house The Blonds. Swift’s new aesthetic pushes boundaries with styled looks by Joseph Cassell Falconer that represent her most revealing fashion choices yet.
The photo series also includes Swift lounging in a burgundy bodysuit and fishnet tights, all part of what she describes as glamorizing “all the different aspects of how the tour felt.”
