In the photo, Slash can be seen wearing a loosely buttoned short-sleeve tropical print shirt paired with large hoop earrings and a straw hat. In his arms, he held Cash, who appeared shirtless, holding an orange-colored beverage in a temporarily tattooed hand.
Slash shares Cash with his ex-wife Perla Ferrar, whom he was married to from 2001 to 2018. The pair also shares another son, London Emilio Hudson, 22.
In a November 2010 interview with The Guardian, Slash touched on how he maintains a close relationship with his sons.
“Having children is still changing me,” he shared at the time. “I’m the eternal teenager, so having my two boys is kind of like having a couple of buddies around.”
The artist also dished on how his children picked up his proclivities from an early age during a February 2022 interview with Wall of Sound. “Both kids are really musically inclined. Cash, my younger son, plays piano and does hip-hop beats,” he shared. “It’s amazing, it’s a whole different trip.”
Cash’s milestone birthday comes after a difficult year as a parent for Slash, whose stepdaughter, Lucy-Bleu Knight, died “peacefully” at 25 years old in Los Angeles on July 19, 2024, according to an Instagram post he shared at the time. The guitarist referred to her as an “incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer and a charming, lovable, sweet soul” in his memorial post.
