Shia LaBeouf is setting the record straight — there’s no drama with Timothée Chalamet, despite recent speculation.
After stirring up rumors with comments about Chalamet’s 2025 SAG Awards acceptance speech, LaBeouf took to X to clarify some things. On Monday, May 12, the American Honey actor shared a quote from Rudyard Kipling’s poem, writing, “‘If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken, twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools.’ Timothée Chalamet is doing better work than anyone alive – we been good.”
LaBeouf, 38, also posted a screenshot of an alleged email exchange between the two from October 2023. In the alleged message, the Dune actor praised the Disney Channel alum’s performance in the play Henry Johnson, writing in part, “Absolutely blown away by your work the other night… king of your kingdom even if that kingdom is a miserable 4×4 prison cell.” LaBeouf responded by thanking Chalamet, 29, and noting, “fun watching you evolve.”

Fans were quick to comment on the post, with one fan noting, “Shia always has receipts.”
“Shia tim collab would be insane,” another suggested.
A third said “Pretty sure this is plagiarized.”
The rumored tension began when LaBeouf mentioned Chalamet’s speech, in which the Dune star expressed his aspirations for greatness, in a May 8 interview with The Hollywood Reporter. LaBeouf reflected on how he would have been criticized for similar sentiments, saying, “On him, it’s cute. On me, it wasn’t cute.”
In that same interview, LaBeouf also clarified his relationship with Alec Baldwin and their past feud, which began in 2013 after working on a play together. “Me and him are good because he’s gone through a lot, I’ve gone through a lot. We’ve both been able to send each other love and make it right before all the madness happened on both sides. We made it right. He’s a good guy. He’s just like me,” LaBeouf revealed.
