Sharon Horgan opened up about her new partner for the first time in the latest episode of Dinner’s on Me with Jesse Tyler Ferguson
Horgan bonded with host Jesse Tyler Ferguson over both being in relationships with people younger than them, with the Bad Sisters star revealing a nine-year age gap with her boyfriend
This comes six years after Horgan got divorced from her husband of 14 years, Jeremy Rainbird
Age is just a number for Sharon Horgan.
During an appearance on the Aug. 4 episode of Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s podcast, Dinner’s on Me, the 55-year-old actress revealed that she is in a new relationship. When Ferguson mentioned his 10-year age gap with husband Justin Mikita, Horgan shared that she and her boyfriend are in a similar position.
“I’ve got a younger partner as well,” she shared. “Well, it’s actually nine years. I said 10 years for a while, and it freaked me out too much. It is nine years.”

When the Modern Family alum asked why she was rounding the number up, Horgan joked that she thought it sounded better at the time.
“I think initially I was like, ‘Oh, that’s exotic being 10 years older,” she laughed. “I sort of got off on it. And then I was like, ‘Oh, no, that’s not good.’”
She explained that she previously worked with the mystery man before they reconnected for another project.
Horgan is the creator and star of the Apple TV+ series Bad Sisters, which, she said, brought her and her boyfriend back together.
“We met years ago doing a film together, and then, you know, became friendly,” she revealed. “And then a good few years later — this wasn’t on purpose, by the way — I cast him in Bad Sisters.”
Horgan admitted this was the first time she was speaking out about her new relationship.
She also noted that the romance “was unexpected.”
“It’s different when you’re my age,” she said. “Being single again at my age is kind of a whole thing.”
Although she never named her beau, Horgan gushed over their connection. “It just feels like so much fun just to meet someone who you can have a laugh with and connect with. It’s surprising.”

Horgan was previously married to Jeremy Rainbird, with whom she shares daughters Sadhbh, 20, and Amer, 16.
They separated in 2019 after 14 years of marriage, and the actress later opened up about the aftermath of the divorce.
“It’s like the Catastrophe story,” she said of her 2015 sitcom on the How To Fail With Elizabeth Day podcast in January. “We got together, we had a baby, and we made it work for a long time. We had another baby, and he was involved in the business. But there came a point where it was so clear that it wasn’t right for either of us.”

Calling the split “a long time coming,” Horgan added: “I don’t know whether it’s being slightly a bit Catholic — some of that stuff still being in me was just that idea of not getting divorced. You don’t get divorced. Just stay in it. It’s so much harder to go through all that, to go through a divorce.”
Horgan also said she was dating someone at the time, although she didn’t provide any more information.
