During an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”, the music producer reflected on the glamorous night, giving his fiancée her well-earned flowers, and himself a bit of self-deprecating shade.

“I looked like a slob,” Blanco joked, sitting beside Gomez. While the “Only Murders in the Building” actress stunned in a custom off-the-shoulder rose gold Ralph Lauren gown, covered in over 16,000 hand-sewn glass droplets and Rosemont crystals, Blanco opted for a more relaxed look featuring an all-white suit adorned with a diamond brooch, layered under a black floral-embellished overcoat.

The red carpet may have sparkled, but the road to the Dolby Theatre was anything but smooth.

“Getting her there was so hard,” Blanco revealed, referencing the intricacies of Gomez’s dazzling gown. “First of all, the dress is 35 pounds! She’s carrying a 35-pound dress and her heels are eight inches high. and then she has to stand on a bus while we’re moving because she can’t sit down.”

Adding to the cinematic chaos? “Sewing her into the dress while we’re moving,” Blanco added. The gown, styled by Molly Dickinson, was inspired by screen legend Sophia Loren, and even involved working with Loren’s original tailor to perfect the silhouette.

It marked Gomez’s first-ever Oscars appearance, where her film “Emilia Pérez” earned multiple nominations.

Gomez may have gotten the surprise of a lifetime when Blanco popped the question, but as she recently revealed, it didn’t start off as a fairytale day.

During an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” the singer and actress opened up about Blanco’s proposal, sharing that she was less than thrilled when the special moment began to unfold.

“I woke up and was very confused on what was happening or where we were going because it seemed kind of far. I was kind of a little grumpy [and] really tired,” Gomez said of the day Blanco asked her to visit the set where they were working on their joint album, “I Said I Love You First.”

In fact, she recalled telling him she’d rather “go hang out with [her] friends” after the studio session, clearly unaware that something much bigger was in store. But even with a sluggish start, the proposal itself turned into a dream.

Gomez said the moment “went off without a hitch” and confessed that she “freaked out” in the best way possible.
