Shakira is back on the red carpet for fashion’s biggest night of the year. After making a stunning debut at last year’s Met Gala in a dramatic Carolina Herrera gown, the global superstar has returned—this time as she prepares for an epic world tour.
She donned a custom pink Prabal Gurung gown for the occasion, featuring cut-outs and a dramatic, sweeping train.
This evening’s appearance comes just three months after Shakira celebrated her birthday with a show-stopping performance at the Grammy Awards—her first time performing on that stage in nearly two decades. She lit up Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles with a dynamic two-part set, blending her iconic hit “Ojos Así” with the viral smash “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” from her latest album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. The release, which marked her first studio effort in seven years, earned her a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album.
Shakira described the record as a deeply personal journey of survival and self-reclamation. In an interview with The New York Times, she shared, “With every song that I wrote, I was rebuilding myself. It was like putting my bones back together.” That’s why I decided to go for this title, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran—‘Women No Longer Cry.’”
She is now gearing up to launch the North American leg of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, which kicks off in Charlotte, North Carolina, on May 13. The tour is already making history, having shattered records across Latin America—including an unprecedented 26 confirmed shows in Mexico, the most any artist has ever performed in the country during a single tour.
