The official logline states that the show is “A comedy set on a college campus centering on an author’s (Carell) complicated relationship with his daughter (Clive).”

MacArthur currently stars in the Netflix basketball comedy “Running Point,” which was renewed for a second season in March. He previously starred in the Fox comedy series “The Mick” and has appeared on shows like “The Righteous Gemstones,” “History of the World Part II,” “Killing It,” and “Physical.” MacArthur was a writer on both “The Mick” and “Righteous Gemstones” as well. He also played a key role in the “Breaking Bad” followup film “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie,” while his other film credits include “No Hard Feelings” and “Halloween Kills.” He will soon be seen in the Amazom/MGM+ series “Spider Noir” starring Nicolas Cage.

He is repped by UTA, Haven Entertainment, and Yorn Levine Barnes.

The series hails from creators Bill Lawrence and Matt Tarses, with both serving as executive producers. Lawrence executive produces via Doozer along with Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer. Carell will executive produce in addition to starring. Jonathan Krisel, Barbie Adler, Annie Mebane, David Stassen, and Anthony King also executive produce, with David Hyman co-executive producing. Warner Bros. Television, where Doozer and Tarses are under overall deals, is the studio.
