Rarely-Seen ‘M*A*S*H’ Star, 91, ‘Looks Fantastic’ in Appearance With Former ’90s Heartthrob originally appeared on Parade.
Fans got a double dose of nostalgia when two iconic actors made a recent and rare appearance while on their way to the Fanboy Expo in Knoxville, Tenn., this month.
In a video shared to TikTok, Terminator 2: Judgment Day star Edward Furlong, 47, pushed M*A*S*H star Jamie Farr, 91, in a wheelchair through the baggage claim area of McGhee Tyson Airport. Both celebs were dressed casually, with Furlong wearing jeans and a black “Purple Rain” t-shirt, while Farr wore a navy blue sport coat and held a suitcase on his lap.
Commenters couldn’t get over seeing the actors traveling as a pair.
“Wow, Jamie Farr looks fantastic,” one person wrote, with a second adding, “Terminator-MASH crossover was unexpected but great to see them together!”
“That’s so sweet. I had the biggest crush on Edward Furlong in the 90s,” another person admitted, as someone else gushed, “Edward Furlong just reached another level of Amazing Person.”
While Farr and Furlong are known for very different types of projects, both have definitely experienced ups and downs in their careers. In a 2017 interview with the Smithsonian, Farr admitted he was struggling when he got the call to play Corporal Maxwell Q. Klinger on M*A*S*H.
“I was really down on my luck. I hadn’t been working, so when they called me, they didn’t even tell me what the part was, they just said you got a part, and it pays $250 for the day,” he recalled. “So, I said to my agent, boy I’ll be there.”
As Farr revealed in the same interview, he only had five or six lines in the first episode of the show, but that was enough to make an impression.
“It made such an impact that they called me back, and I think I did six more of those first-year shows, and that’s how I got connected with the series,” he said.
