Two Saturday Night Live superstars are reuniting on the small screen.

Molly Shannon has joined Will Ferrell in his untitled golf comedy series for Netflix, the streamer announced Tuesday. The show will see Ferrell play a fictional golf legend, while Shannon will portray a character named Stacy.

Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum, and Alix Taylor are executive-producing for Gloria Sanchez Productions, while Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman, and Nena Rodrigue are executive-producing for T-Street. Chris Henchy, Harper Steele, David Gordon Green, and Andrew Guest are also on board as EPs.

Ferrell and Shannon have a long history of onscreen collaboration, dating back to their earliest years on SNL. Both comedians joined the legendary sketch show in 1995, with Shannon arriving midway through season 20 and Ferrell jumping aboard in season 21.

During their time on SNL, the two appeared in countless sketches together, including “Dog Show” and “Dr. Beaman’s Office.” Ferrell also appeared in the debut sketch for Shannon’s most iconic character, Mary Katherine Gallagher, in 1995, and later acted alongside the actress in her character’s 1999 spinoff movie, Superstar.

Shannon also appeared in a small role in 1998’s A Night at the Roxbury, which saw Ferrell and their SNL castmate Chris Kattan reprise their roles from the recurring nightclub sketch. And Shannon played supporting roles in Ferrell’s star vehicles Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and Casa De Mi Padre. Both actors played minor roles in the 1999 mockumentary The Thin Pink Line as well.

On the small screen, Ferrell and Shannon served as commentators — as the goofy fictional broadcasters Cord Hosenbeck and Tish Cattigan — for the 2018 and 2019 Rose Parades, as well as the Prince Harry-Meghan Markle wedding. They also appeared together on the comedy series The Spoils Before Dying.

Shannon recently appeared in Ferrell’s documentary Will and Harper, which chronicled his cross-country road trip with former SNL writer Harper Steele. They also both performed on SNL50: The Anniversary Special in February, though they did not appear in any sketches together.

Shannon will next star in the comedy movies Balls Up and Driver’s Ed, as well as the romance film People We Meet on Vacation. Ferrell has a number of projects in development, including the Ryan Gosling comedy Tough Guys, the Gus Van Sant film The Prince of Fashion, and the Zac Efron and Priyanka Chopra Jonas action-comedy Judgment Day.
