The Trump Administration’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed on Wednesday that Emiliano Garduno-Galvez, a previously deported illegal migrant from Mexico, will be sentenced for attempted murder in the ongoing Los Angeles riots.

June 7 footage from the DHS shows Garduno-Galvez lighting a Molotov cocktail behind a tree as officers approached. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Los Angeles arrested Garduno-Galvez on June 9, according to a DHS press release, and he was charged with attempted murder the next day.(RELATED: ‘A Bad Day To Be An Illegal Alien’: Border Enforcement Win Rack Up Under Trump Admin)

Immigration authorities have previously deported Garduno-Galvez. His prior criminal record includes grand theft and a DUI in the State of California, according to the same press release.

“These are the types of criminal illegal aliens that rioters are fighting to protect,” Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in the release. “And if you lay a hand on a law enforcement officer, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Recent ICE raids against illegal migrants in America sparked riots in California that have since spread across the country — as the Trump administration cracks down on protestors by deploying the National Guard to quell violence in LA.

A statement posted to X from the Santa Ana Police Department affirms the First Amendment Right of “peaceful assembly,” in relation to the riots. Similarly, multiple legacy media outlets have refused to even use the term ‘riots’ in their coverage. MSNBC and CNN referred to the LA riots as “peaceful” 170 times, according to previous reporting by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, conversely, has strongly supported ICE actions in LA, saying in an X post that America has “ZERO tolerance for attacking federal agents who are doing their job,” and that “The National Guard, and Marines if need be, stand with ICE.”
