Olivia Rodrigo just shared an adorable throwback photo of her at her first-ever concert after performing with the same band this weekend.
On Friday, August 1, the pop singer performed her headlining set at the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago, Illinois. In the middle of her set, she brought out legendary rock band Weezer for a surprise performance of their hits “Buddy Holly” and “Say it Ain’t So.”
Rodrigo told the crowd that Weezer was the first band she ever saw live.
“You always remember your first concert. It’s a very, very special moment,” the “Vampire” singer said. “I remember my first concert. It was a very memorable night. I watched this incredible band and I am so over the moon, because that incredible band is actually here tonight to play a few songs. Will you please say hello to Weezer?”
On Monday, August 4, Rodrigo took to Instagram to share a throwback photo from that very night and thanked the iconic band for joining her onstage. In the snap, a young Rodrigo is seen wearing a Weezer shirt and blue headphones while excitedly waiting for the show to start.
“my first concert and my last weekend of the GUTS tour. thank u to everyone who came out and thank u @weezer for still making me this excited all these years later!!! cannot believe how lucky I am to be able to play these shows with yall!!!! 💗💗💗” she captioned the post.

Fans quickly took to the comment section to congratulate Rodrigo on her full-circle moment.
“definition of full circle moment fr!!! so proud of u <33” wrote one fan. “My rockstar! I cant wait for OR3 and all the things we’ll still have. Congratulations, Princess! I love you! ❤️” commented another.
Weezer also replied to the post, saying, “Full circle moment and an absolute honor, thank you 🤘⚡️”
Following Lollapalooza, Rodrigo wrapped her GUTS tour shows when she played Osheaga Festival in Montreal, Canada on August 3. Meanwhile, Weezer will play festivals across the country in August, September and October before heading to South America in November for three shows.
