Piper Rockelle can admit that her current romance has its origin in matters of business.
The 17-year-old influencer addressed her relationship with fellow content creator Capri Jones in her recent interview with Rolling Stone. The feature — which was published on Thursday, May 1 — marks the first time Rockelle directly addressed Netflix’s docuseries Bad Influence and the allegations made about her mother, Tiffany Smith.
Rockelle stood by her mom, Tiffany Smith, and shut down questions about abuse accusations made by her ex-collaborators, who filed a complaint against Smith in 2022. The teen also discussed the current ongoings of her personal life, specifically how her fling with Jones started out as a “social media relationship.”
“It was for business. We were just working,” Rockelle said of her boyfriend, with whom she regularly collaborates to make videos for TikTok and Instagram. She told Rolling Stone that they started filming together in person and eventually realized they had a connection.

Still, the outlet noted that Rockelle is conscious of their business potential as a couple: “We’re so smart and we think about everything,” she said in the article. “We can go so many ways with this relationship. On social media and in real life.”
The influencer regularly shares videos with Jones, and their joint content dates back over two months. They first started posting together in early March 2025, and they’ve since ramped up their relationship with content suggesting plans to move in together.
Despite their consistent collaboration, they appeared to make it “official” in a clip posted on April 20. In the TikTok, Jones can be seen handing Rockelle a poster that read, “Will you be my GF?” Underneath the question, a “Yes” box was ticked off.
In her conversation with Rolling Stone, Rockelle admitted that she likes posting content that would spark some angry responses from viewers, “like rage bait,” she said, adding, “I love doing stuff that people are going to be like, ‘Oh, my God. Why did you do that? You’re so annoying.’”

The outlet recounted how on April Fool’s Day, she and Jones posted videos claiming they broke up after Rockelle cheated on him. She lost 100,000 TikTok followers as a result of the prank, but she said it was worth it to drum up some attention.
“You have to think about social media. It’s a job. You have to take risks. And that was a risk that I was willing to take… to popularize our Twitch,” Rockelle said, referring to her and Jones’ presence on the livestreaming platform. “It did really, really well for both of us.”
