Ozzy Osbourne and Hulk Hogan Had a Surprising Connection: ‘RIP to Two Legends’ originally appeared on Parade.
Ozzy Osbourne’s crazy train of a career sometimes veered off into interesting directions.
Long before the Black Sabbath frontman and his family opened up their home to reality TV with their hit show The Osbournes, Ozzy was involved in another big TV event—WrestleMania 2.

It was on April 7, 1986 that Hulk Hogan and Ozzy, who died just days apart, crossed paths through the magic of television, though they weren’t actually at the same venue.
WrestleMania 2 took place in three different venues on the same day.
Hogan battled King Kong Bundy at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, where he retained his title.
Ozzy was at the Rosemont Horizon in the Chicago suburbs managing the wrestling tag-team duo known as the British Bulldogs, alongside Captain Lou Albano, who also had a connection to another music superstar—Cyndi Lauper. (He played the singer’s father in three of her music videos, including “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” and appeared as a cook in the video for “Time After Time.”)
In video from WrestleMania 2, posted on the official WWE YouTube account, Ozzy can be seen ring side wearing a pink suit. Ozzy’s team of Davey Boy Smith and Dynamite Kid were literally manhandled by Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake in the World Tag Team Title match but somehow won the championship. After the brutal beatdown, Ozzy can be seen, pink suit and all, entering the ring.

Although the vintage video was posted more than five years ago, fans are leaving fresh comments in honor of Ozzy’s passing.
“Rest in Power to the Prince of Darkness,” reads one.
“RIP to two legends,” another fan posted.
“Shout-out to my boy Ozzy,” read a third.
Vintage photos exist from the event that captured Ozzy in his pink suit (see above) and have been shared on social media, including a photo of Osbourne with Captain Lou Albano that was posted on the 80’s Wrestling Instagram account, as well as a photo of Ozzy with the British Bull Dogs and Albano that was shared on Osbourne’s own official Facebook account.
WWE also paid tribute to Osbourne twice. First, in 2021 when he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, and just after his passing, by issuing a statement in his honor. The organization called Ozzy “a true legend in every aspect” and extended “condolences to Osbourne’s family, friends, and fans.”
