‘Law & Order: SVU’ Gets Historic Behind-The-Scenes Project originally appeared on Parade.
Captain Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) has been chasing down the worst of the worst criminals for 25 years on NBC’s Law & Order: SVU and now her story and the stories of the rest of the Special Victims Unit are coming to life in “the first comprehensive behind-the-scenes look at the crime drama,” a hardcover book called LAW & ORDER SVU: CONFIDENTIAL: Everything We Love about the Show We Can’t Stop Watching, due out in October.
The book comes from award-winning writer and filmmaker Neal E. Fischer, whose other projects include Being Patrick Swayze: Essential Teachings from the Master of the Mullet (2022) and Behind the Screens: Illustrated Floor Plans and Scenes from the Best TV Shows of All Time.
In LAW & ORDER SVU: CONFIDENTIAL: Everything We Love about the Show We Can’t Stop Watching, Fischer will give fans the “definitive insider’s guide, exploring how real-life cases inspired the show’s most memorable episodes and examining the secrets behind its enduring success.”

The book will explore over 450 episodes of the crime drama while “providing exclusive behind-the-scenes details that even devoted viewers haven’t seen before,” according to The Quarter Group’s official announcement.
