As the mother of two young kids, Duchess Meghan’s days are probably full of surprises. And she got another one this week, when she made an appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Show Podcast and received a letter from Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3, (transcribed kindly by their father, Prince Harry).
“No one’s ever seen this before,” host Kern Lima said to Meghan as she pulled out the letter. “I would love to share it with you, and if you feel comfortable this morning, you can share it with all of us.”
The Duchess of Sussex then proceeded to read the note aloud, which was signed, “From Archie and Lily via Papa.”
“We love your cooking, we love your pancakes, and we love, love, love your hugs,” the letter said. “You’re the best mummy and we love you.”
Meghan called the note “so sweet,” and she joked that Harry has clearly had an influence on their kids’ language. “I also love that it’s ‘mummy,’ which is very British, instead of ‘mommy,’” she said with a laugh. “Oh, yeah, they’re the greatest.”
Later, Meghan was asked what she hopes Lilibet will say about her as a mother when she grows up. “I hope she says… ‘Oh my gosh, no one has ever loved someone more than the way our mom loved us.’ And I put that in practice, you know, that’s part of every day how I show up for them.”
While Harry and Meghan tend to keep the details of their family life private, the duchess has been giving her followers some rare peeks at her children lately, after she returned to Instagram back in January.
Just this past weekend, Meghan documented a flower-picking session with her kids, which she captioned: “Sunday kind of love….with my little loves.” Motherhood looks good on her.
