Kylie Jenner paid attention to every aspect of her look while supporting Timothée Chalamet throughout awards season.
Weeks after the couple made their red-carpet debut in Rome at the 70th David Di Donatello Awards, Jenner, 27, revealed to Harper’s Bazaar why she chose to wear a black, curve-hugging Schiaparelli gown.
“I think it just like happened that way,” Jenner said in an interview published Wednesday, May 28. “Even, recently I was like, I can’t wear another black dress. And then of course the most perfect, gorgeous Schiaparelli black dress shows up.”

For the highly anticipated moment, Jenner wore the plunging neckline design from the Schiaparelli Fall/Winter 2025 collection with an updo. She matched Chalamet, 29, who was at the event to accept the David for Cinematic Excellence, in a sleek velvet suit decorated with a boutonniere.
It wasn’t the first time the Khy founder wore black during awards season, which she said was intentional.
“Although these are the most beautiful, iconic gowns that I’ve been wearing, I think a black dress is also kind of like, not too attention grabbing in the best way. You can never go wrong with a black dress,” she said.
While the 70th David Di Donatello Awards marked Jenner and Chalamet’s first time posing on the carpet together after being linked since April 2023, The Kardashians star was often seen by his side at events these past few months.
At the 2025 Oscars, Jenner wore a sexy, skin-baring bedazzled Miu Miu gown. The dress featured a cutout framed with straps that connected her plunging bra top and floor-length skirt.

The look, complemented by Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, was a contrast to Chalamet’s custom Givenchy butter-yellow suit.
For the after-party, Jenner slipped into another black look, opting for a design from Ashi Studio’s Spring/Summer 2025 Haute Couture collection, which featured a lace corset bodice and sheer skirt. Chalamet matched the outfit in a black embossed blazer and slacks.
Jenner also wore black when she attended the 2025 BAFTA Awards with Chalamet in a slinky vintage John Galliano dress, the Berlin Film Festival in a floor-length gown and the Santa Barbara Film Festival in a bodycon dress.

A source told PEOPLE in April that “with the awards season and premieres, earlier this year was intense for their relationship.”
