Katie Holmes is giving chocolate brown the springtime treatment.
This Tuesday, the actor and director stepped our in a strapless midi dress in the rich, earthy shade. The piece had a ribbed, ruched drop-waist bodice and a shiny leather poplin skirt.
Holmes wore it with round-toe leather heels in a caramel brown, and a white leather mini bag with golden hardware, courtesy of Tod’s. (In case you missed it, white bags are so hot right now.)
She completed the ensemble with an inky-black smoky eye and a side-parted straight hairdo.
Holmes wore the look to attend the Tod’s cocktail party held at the brand’s boutique in New York City.
“We live in a world where we have a premiere and you want to look nice, and it turns into being a fashion person, and I’m like, ‘Well, I just like to look nice, I’m not really a fashion person.’ We all just want to look good,” Holmes told Harper’s Bazaar in 2022.
The actor recently completed her Broadway run in Our Town—alongside Jim Parsons and
Zoey Deutch—which has been nominated for a Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play. She then made her return to television for a cameo in Natasha Lyonne’s drama series, Poker Face.
To announce her appearance on the show, Holmes shared an Instagram post of herself at the premiere party in a white suit with a bold, blue floral print. She accessorized the fit with chocolate-brown staples, including suede pumps and a Western-inspired handbag with fringe.
