After attending an intimate Mother’s Day-themed luncheon on Wednesday, April 16 to celebrate Gucci’s new Gucci Together campaign, guests went home with the fashion house’s signature Gucci Flora silk scarf and some manicure inspiration, thanks to attendee Jessica Chastain.
Both are excellent and usable goodies, obviously, but the latter is the gift that’ll keeps on giving this season. If you can’t eat seasonal Italian dishes cooked over a wood-fired hearth with your favorite celebrities, you can paint your nails like them.
Jessica Chastain’s Naked Manicure

Attending the event (it was held at Mediterranean restaurant Borgo in New York) with her own mom, Jerri Hastey, Chastain showed off a simple, naked manicure that is sure to show up on hands everywhere as this season of minimalist manicures continues.

A nice trade in for the candy-shell pinks and pastel greens we so often see this time of year, the simple mani featured a milky, nude pink shade on short, rounded nails. It was the kind of nude that could be mistaken for no polish whatsoever, but I know a lacquer when I see it—the shade is similar to the base of Chastain’s French manicure at the 11th Annual Breakthrough Prize Awards.

Jessica Chastain’s Luncheon Style
In honor of her gracious hosts, Chastain used her manicured hand to clutch a small leather Gucci Bamboo 1947 bag in an all-red colorway. She was dressed in an all-black pantsuit and matching shoes, with her famous red hair middle parted and tied back in a pretty, bouncy ponytail.

Her pretty mom also chose a suit for the afternoon, opting for a flowy Gucci set patterned in pinks, reds, and burgundies. Her own nails were painted a peachy shade—another excellent choice this time of year.
Happy early Mother’s Day, mothers! I want to be just like you when I grow up.
