Bush Hager met her now-husband in 2004 before they went on to tie the knot at her family’s Prairie Chapel Ranch in Crawford, Texas, on May 10, 2008. The couple became first-time parents in April 2013, when they welcomed their daughter Mila. Their daughter Poppy came two years later, in August 2015. In 2019, they expanded their family once again, welcoming their baby boy named Hal.

The former first daughter has been candid about her journey to motherhood over the years, admitting that “logistics can be difficult” now that she’s a mom of three. She devotes time to “making sure that each child has the love that I know I feel for them.” Overall, expanding her family has brought her more joy than ever. “It’s fun,” she told PEOPLE after the birth of her third child. “I’m really happy.”

The proud mom is always sharing adorable pictures or telling stories about her family. On Sunday, April 20, Bush Hager shared adorable snaps of her loved ones celebrating Easter, including a photo of her family of five and a group shot of everyone who was in attendance for their gathering.

“Happiest Easter!” she captioned the post.

While speaking with PEOPLE exclusively for a recent cover story, Bush Hager shared that even with famous grandparents, like former President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush, her children still get embarrassed by them. The mom of three shared that her daughter, Mila, is at the age where she’s beginning to grasp exactly what a visit from her grandparents entails.

“My mom came to visit a couple of weeks ago, and we were driving around, we went to dinner, and Mila looked at me and she’s like, ‘Are you humiliated?’ ” Bush Hager recalled. “I’m like, ‘What? Why would I be humiliated?’ And it’s because of the Secret Service entourage!”

Bush Hager went on to tell PEOPLE that she later asked Mila if she’d want her grandmother to tag along for “Bring Your Special Person to School Day, but she wasn’t thrilled by the idea.

“She’s like, ‘Sorry, Grammy, but you can’t do that. You can’t do that,’ ” she explained, before continuing. “Because she just can’t imagine!”
