Jason Kelce is continuing his health journey, but he revealed he’s still feeling physical decline in his retirement.
The 37-year-old former Philadelphia Eagles center opened up about his recent weight loss while speaking with brother Travis Kelce on the Wednesday, May 14 episode of their New Heights podcast.
“I’m about 270 right now, I think,” the retired NFL star shared of his weight.
“270?! That’s what I played last year. You could play tight end,” Travis, 35, who is a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, told Jason.

However, the ESPN correspondent doesn’t think his body could handle a return to football.
“Can’t, no, my ankles and knees and back won’t let me. It’s getting bad,” the father of four shared. “I don’t know if it’s the moment you retire mentally, your body retires too, physically, because I am just [struggling]. I’m trying to lift weights. I keep straining muscles.”
The golf enthusiast added that even his hobby has added stress to his joints.
“My ankle [from] playing golf last week is inflamed,” he said. “I can’t squat now because my ankle hurts.”

Jason has been open about his weight loss journey since his 2024 retirement. Back in March, he shared that he entered a competition with fellow NFL alum Beau Allen.
“Beau Allen reached out and said, ‘Do you wanna do a competition on who can lose the most body fat percentage but still gain muscle?’ ” Jason explained on the March 25 episode of New Heights.
At the time of that episode, Jason said he weighed 276 pounds, adding, “I was never heavier than 300. Well, maybe a couple of times … I tipped 300 in the NFL.”
As for why he’s focusing on his health, Jason previously quipped, “Dude, this is what you do … when you retire, you have to do stupid competitions like this to keep your sanity.”
The goal, Jason said, is to “try and lose as much body fat percentage as possible in three months.”
He’s not the only Kelce brother who’s shed pounds recently. Earlier this week at the Amazon MGM Studios Upfront, Travis told reporters that he recently shed 25 lbs. in order to get in better shape during the NFL offseason.
