The Young and the Restless’ Devon (Bryton James) left Genoa City for a very important meeting in Fairmont Crest. Devon appearing on Beyond the Gates was the first big crossover for the new CBS soaps.
It turns out that Devon has a connection to the Dupree family. In fact, in his meeting with Vernon (Clifton Davis) and Anita (Tamara Tunie), the latter revealed the Dupree family also knew the late, great Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John).

Devon’s appearance has raised questions about whether the character will move from The Young and the Restless to Beyond the Gates. After all, CBS soaps are known for having characters hop shows. Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) and Sally (Courtney Hope) are perfect examples of that.
Neither James, Beyond the Gates, nor The Young and the Restless has said anything about Devon permanently heading to Fairmont Crest. It seems Devon’s guest appearance was merely to establish a connection between the two shows.
Fans, though, are begging for Devon to make a change. Social media was on fire during Devon’s one-episode stint onBeyond the Gates.
“Devon might as well move his a– to Fairmont Crest with Abby and the baby. #BeyondTheGates wouldn’t waste him like #YR has for years,” read an X. One fan on X expressed, “Yeah after 30 seconds I want Devon on #BeyondTheGates permanently. Let’s start a campaign. #DevonOnTheGates dammit #YR.”

A different fan stated, “Devon can stay in Fairmont Crest #BeyondTheGates.”
Another fan on X shared, “They were only together for a minute, but I loved Devon and Dani’s chemistry. If only Dani’s interested look meant there could possibly be a future here with them #beyondthegates.”

The chemistry between Dani (Karla Mosley) and Devon was mentioned more than once. “Dani, what is that look?!?! Too bad Devon isn’t staying in Fairmont Crest. I could easily ship him with Dani. #BTG #BeyondTheGates #YR,” wrote a fan on X.
Fans of both shows will have to keep watching to find out if Devon makes more crossovers, or even makes a permanent move from Y&R to BTG.
