As part of the band’s set, the hit ‘80s group performed a cover of Black Sabbath’s “Planet Caravan” — a track closely associated with Osbourne. Osbourne and Wylde’s meeting was nothing short of serendipitous. After the death of his guitarist Randy Rhoads, Osbourne was struggling to find a suitable replacement. When Wylde, a young guitarist from New Jersey, sent in a tape, Osbourne initially dismissed it, thinking he was just another “Randy Rhoads clone.” However, after a suggestion from his drummer, the rocker finally gave Wylde a chance. This marked the beginning of a decades-long collaboration, with Wylde becoming a key member of Osbourne’s band and contributing to some of his most iconic albums.
Osbourne died at the age of 76 on July 22, 2025 just weeks after his final performance with Black Sabbath.
