Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt’s 2 Kids: All About Sons Gunner and Ryker (Including Their Reality TV Dreams!)

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt rose to reality TV fame on MTV’s The Hills before becoming devoted parents to kids Gunner and Ryker.

The couple first met in 2006 while Montag was filming The Hills. Shortly after they began dating, Pratt was cast on the show, with their relationship becoming a central storyline.

The pair married in April 2009. They welcomed their first child together, Gunner Stone, in October 2017, followed by son Ryker in November 2022.

After welcoming Gunner in 2017, Montag said that her son had given her “a whole new strength that I didn’t know.”

“I feel like I am stronger than I’ve ever been emotionally,” she told Paper in April 2018. “At the end of the day, I’m his mom, and that’s my main priority.”

Gunner Stone Pratt, 7

The couple welcomed their first child together, Gunner Stone Pratt, on Oct. 1, 2017.

Prior to his birth, the couple hinted that his name would be unique. “I think it’s original and it’s classic,” Montag told Today in September 2017. “So, some people will have heard of it, but I think it will fit well. I love it.”

As for Pratt, he revealed that they picked a moniker based, in part, on the availability of social media handles.

“I just would like my baby to be a professional content maker,” he said in an August 2017 of the Allegedly with Theo Von & Matthew Cole Weiss podcast. To get him started, the reality star created accounts for him before he was even born. Of course, that meant narrowing down their name choices. “We had to ditch a couple names,” he added.

Just a month after welcoming Gunner, Pratt said that fatherhood “has absolutely changed” him.

“It’s the best thing that ever happened to me,” he told Flare in November 2017. “I think I finally found my calling … everything now is about looking toward the future and making it good for him. It’s not about me anymore.”

Three months after Gunner’s birth, Montag exclusively told PEOPLE in January 2018 that she was “sleep-deprived and tired and busy, but it’s so perfect.”

“I waited a long time to have kids and it was meant to be to have him,” she shared. “The first smile was everything. He was on the changing table and he looked up and smiled at me. I cried!”

At that time, Montag shared that she didn’t want Gunner to “not live in his parents’ mistakes or shadows,” telling Paper that she wants to raise her son with “different values.”

Although he’s young, Gunner is already an entrepreneur. He’s listed as the “owner” of the Gunner Stone jewelry line in his Instagram bio.

Per his account, Gunner is interested in birds, karate and soccer. However, he may be taking after his parents — after watching his dad compete on Hulu’s Got To Get Out, Gunnar asked to appear with his dad on season 2 of the reality series.

“We’ll support their dreams in whatever way,” Montag told Women’s World in April 2025. “Obviously we’d monitor it and be very hands on. We have so much experience, so we’d be able to help Gunner navigate and keep everything in perspective.”

Ryker Rock Pratt, 2

Pratt and Montag welcomed their second child, son Ryker Rock Pratt, on Nov. 17, 2022.

Montag had a quick labor, telling Entertainment Tonight in December 2022 that she was afraid she was going to have him in the car on the way to the hospital.

“From beginning to finish it was only like an hour and 15 minutes,” she said. “It was very fast.”

Calling him “such a blessing,” Montag added that Ryker “has an incredible temperament.”

“He’s so easy,” she said. “Every time I’ve needed him to sleep, he’s slept. He’s just so sweet and calm. You can tell he’s just a really calm, relaxed baby.”

Gunner loved the new addition to the family, too.

“Gunner is the best big brother I’ve ever seen. He’s so great. He’s so excited to show everyone [Ryker],” she added. “He wants to hold him every morning. He wants to kiss him and play with him.”

According to Ryker’s Instagram account, his “favorite place” is a pumpkin patch, while his “bestie” is his older brother, Gunner.

In January, Montag and Pratt lost their home in the Los Angeles wildfires. In an emotional Good Morning America appearance, Pratt recalled watching his children’s bedrooms burn on security cameras — including son Ryker’s nursery.

“The worst was our kid’s room that was so magical,” Pratt recalled, getting choked up. “We do story time each night, it’s like our routine, so much love is in there. Our son’s bed started just burning in the shape of a heart. The fire started in the shape of a heart. I was like, ‘This is like, out of body insane.’ ”

The couple are currently living in Santa Barbara and developing a Hulu project about losing their home, per Variety.
