Hard Rock Guitarist’s Visit to the Brady Bunch House With Original Cast Member Resurfaces

This is the story of the house used in the Brady Bunch that was visited by a guitarist in Mötley Crüe.

That’s right, a vintage photo of John 5 visiting the Brady house has resurfaced on Instagram thanks to fellow musician Jon Wurster, the drummer in Bob Mould’s band.

Wurster, who also plays drums in the Michael Shannon-Jason Narducyband that performs the music of R.E.M., posts photos on Instagram with the #rocknrollweirdness tag. His post on Thursday, May 8, featured the Mötley Crüe guitarist posing in front of the Brady house with Mike Lookinland, the actor who portrayed Bobby Brady on the classic sitcom.

“Current Motley Crue guitarist John 5 visiting the Brady Bunch house with Mike Lookinland (Bobby Brady, for those keeping score) is a Trunkfull of #rocknrollweirdness,” Wurster captioned the photo.

It turns out that the photo dates back to 2019, when Variety published a story with the headline “Rob Zombie Guitarist John 5 Is a ‘Brady Bunch’ Superfan (and Has the Pictures to Prove It)” that featured photos of the guitarist posing with other Brady stars, including Susan Olsen, who played Cindy Brady.

John 5, who has since left Zombie’s band to to replace Mick Mars in Mötley Crüe, is a Brady Bunch superfan who was on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony at the Brady Bunch house for HGTV’s A Very Brady Renovation. He also featured Olsen in the video for the song “Zoinks!” from his album Invasion.

Wurster’s followers got a kick out of the post, with some dropping clever comments.

“‘They were four men living all together. Yet, they were all alone.’ – Motley Crüe,” wrote one while another added, “Greg 1, Marcia 2, Peter 3, Jan 4, John 5.”
