Gwen Stefani is giving fans a peek behind the curtain of her marriage to Blake Shelton, and it turns out, their not-so-secret weapon isn’t a couple’s therapist or a Hollywood love coach, it’s something a little more divine.

Stefani and Shelton first met as coaches on “The Voice” back in 2015, both newly divorced and navigating heartbreak. That July, Shelton finalized his split from Miranda Lambert after four years of marriage, and just weeks later, Stefani and Gavin Rossdale ended their 13-year marriage.

In October 2020, the couple announced their engagement, with Shelton popping the question with an eight-carat diamond ring reportedly worth around $500,000.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch in 2021.

Gwen Stefani Says The ‘Third Party’ In Her Marriage To Blake Shelton Is God

While appearing on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” the No Doubt frontwoman revealed the best advice she’s ever received about love, and it’s surprisingly spiritual.

“Best advice would probably be, make sure you have a third party,” she said, as she looked upward and pointed to the sky, signaling she was referring to God. The crowd erupted in applause as Stefani smiled and nodded.

Stefani doubled down on the sentiment, saying that keeping God at the center of her relationship with the country superstar is “the key to their happiness.”

The couple has since become one of the industry’s favorite love stories, blending their worlds of pop-punk and country charm. Gwen shares three sons, Kingston, 18, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 11, with Rossdale, and Blake has stepped into the role of stepdad with open arms.

‘A Second Chance At Life’

Last November, Stefani opened up to The Guardian about just how life-changing their romance has been, calling her relationship with Blake a “second chance at life.”

“When my family fell apart, it was a catastrophe,” she recalled. “How do you pick yourself up from that? But God put this other person there to love me.”

Their love has even bloomed, literally, through shared passions like gardening. During the pandemic, the couple discovered old purple irises blooming near a historic building on their Oklahoma property. The moment inspired Stefani’s romantic ballad “Purple Irises.”

“Someone must have planted [them] centuries ago, but they’ve survived,” she said. “I wrote the song ‘Purple Irises’ about that and how it feels to find true love and the insecurities of not wanting to lose it.”

Gwen Stefani is trading her Harajuku girls for holy cards in a surprising new partnership that has the internet doing a double-take.

As The Blast reported last year, the No Doubt frontwoman and longtime pop icon has officially teamed up with Hallow, a Catholic prayer and meditation app, for its recent holiday campaign, joining Christian music stars like Lauren Daigle, Matt Maher, and Sarah Kroger to help lead a special Advent challenge.

The goal? To help users “prepare your heart for Christmas and rediscover the wonder of Christ’s coming into this world and our [hearts],” according to the app.

Gwen Stefani’s Public Embrace Of Faith Sparks Buzz

And while Stefani has long been vocal about her love for Blake Shelton, country music, and even gardening, this latest move into public spirituality is a whole new look, one many fans didn’t see coming.

“Hallow isn’t just politically aligned—it’s a scam,” someone expressed on Threads. “The app puts God’s grace behind a paywall, limiting access to spiritual content unless you fork over cash. Faith shouldn’t come with a subscription fee. Don’t use this app.”

In recent weeks, Stefani has also sprinkled her Instagram with subtle religious nods, including a “holy card” of Saint Cecilia, the patron saint of musicians, posted to her Instagram Stories. While the singer didn’t add a caption, the image of the saint, complete with rosary beads and angelic symbolism, spoke volumes.

She’s also been making quiet waves in the Catholic community.

A screenshot of a comment Stefani left on a reel from the 2023 Eucharistic procession hosted by The Napa Institute has been circulating among faith-based social media pages.

The conference aims to “bring truth, faith, and value into the modern world,” and Gwen’s comment, “Beautiful and brave,” was enough to make believers out of her fans, too.
