Goldie Hawn is grieving the loss of her dear friend and former co-star Ruth Buzzi.
Following the news that Buzzi died “peacefully in her sleep” at age 88 on Thursday, May 1, Hawn took to social media to pay tribute to the late comedian, whom she worked closely with on Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In in the late ’60s.

“My Ruthie, you’re gone, and it hurts so deeply,” Hawn, 79, wrote in a solemn Instagram post on Friday. “I’ll always treasure our daily calls, how we could talk endlessly, even after long days.”
“You were my girlfriend, my heart through life’s ups and downs. You made me laugh like no one else could,” the Overboard actress added, while calling her late friend, “beyond talented.”
“A one of a kind soul who brought so much laughter and light to the world,” Hawn continued under a black-and-white photo of the two actresses taken during Laugh-In. “Those deep, joyful laughs we shared, especially while making Laugh In, will stay with me forever.”

“I love you. Wishing you peace and beautiful travels in the arms of the angels. ❤️,” the heartfelt post concluded.
Hawn was supported by several of her celebrity friends and family following the loss, including daughter Kate Hudson, who commented, “❤️🕊️❤️,” under the post. Demi Moore also chimed in with a similar collection of emojis.
“So sorry for the loss of your dear friend Goldie,” wrote Rita Wilson, who added in part, “Ruth will be remembered in my heart forever.”
