The 22-year-old likened his hair change to Natalie Portman’s major makeover in V for Vendetta, the film that required the actress to shave her head in real time. “[It] was just as powerful,” Wolfhard said of his cut.
Variety also wrote that Wolfhard has been itching for his hair to return to the luscious jet-black waves he’s most known for before kicking off press for season 5 of Stranger Things, which is set to premiere later this year.

He told the outlet that they tossed around different ink ideas, costar Sadie Sink suggesting a flashlight, Wolfhard gravitating towards Hawkins’ tiger mascot and the majority voting in favor of “7-15-2016” symbolizing the show’s debut.

However, after debate over exactly what they would get inked to commemorate the moment, “No one could agree what to get because everyone had different storylines and the show meant different things to different people,” Wolfhard said. “Honestly, I think moving forward, we might still do it.”
