Dua Lipa will start her Radical Optimism Tour back up next week, performing in Madrid on May 11. But tonight, the star is enjoying a special date night out in New York City.
Lipa stepped out on the Met Gala’s red carpet, wearing a beaded Chanel dress in honor of the night’s “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme. Her partner, Callum Turner, joined her, marking their event debut. They were very affectionate on the red carpet as they showed off their matching black looks:
Lipa spent the week ahead of the Met Gala in New York City. The star posed backstage with the cast of Oh, Mary! on April 29.
Lipa skipped all of 2025’s awards season. She notably missed the Grammys, in part because her album Radical Optimism was completely snubbed. In December 2024, she explained how she felt about its omission from the music ceremony in an interview with Billboard UK.
She said, “I’m so proud of Radical Optimism and where it’s brought me. I love that album, and I’m having the time of my life performing it live, and I’ve been able to do things that I thought I could only dream of this year, so I’m really grateful. Although it would have been nice to be recognized by your industry, especially as a woman, I’m so proud seeing so many incredible female artists nominated at the Grammys this year.”
She applauded Charli XCX’s inclusion in particular, saying, “I love her so much and she’s always been a really good friend of mine and been so supportive from day one. She deserves all the flowers. She’s worked her ass off, and it’s so beautiful to see her get the recognition she deserves. She’s really stuck to her guns and allowed herself to be creative in her own way, and it’s paid off. That’s the best thing that can ever happen to an artist. She’s so deserving of every moment.”
