Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler’s heartwarming friendship extends to their families.
During the Tuesday, May 13, episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the daytime talk show host, 50, was joined by guest and fellow mom Mindy Kaling. While chatting with the Sex Lives of College Girls creator, 45, Barrymore opened up about how she feels it’s a good sign when older kids aren’t “dismissive of younger kids.”
As an example, the 50 First Dates actress shared that the Sandler daughters, Sunny, 16, and Sadie, 19, are “so good” to her two daughters, Frankie, 11, and Olive, 12.
“I feel like it’s a really good sign of a good soul and good parenting when older kids are not dismissive of younger kids,” she told Kaling. “It’s funny, like not to drop names, but Adam Sandler’s daughters, Sunny and Sadie, are so good to my daughters.”
“Olive and Frankie are 10 and 12, and they like hang out. I always tell Jackie — Adam’s wife — what a good mom that she is and what good parents they are because their daughters always take younger ones under their wing.”

Barrymore shares Olive and Frankie with ex-husband Will Kopelman. Although their 2016 divorce was “painful,” the couple is on good terms. In 2021, Barrymore took her daughters trick-or-treating for Halloween with Kopelman and his current wife, Alexandra Michler Kopelman.
“I think, honestly, this is so ideal. It is the dream. And I love seeing this, I really do. It’s very positive,” Barrymore said during the “Drew’s News” segment of The Drew Barrymore Show. “You’re never not together if you have children.”
While open to sharing cute anecdotes and the occasional Instagram post, Barrymore is notoriously private when it comes to her children and says she won’t “sell her brand on her kids.”
“I started [in this industry] when I was in diapers,” she told PEOPLE in 2020. “At 13, it was that sad sob story. And then I picked myself back up. I’ve been married, I’ve gotten divorced, I’ve raised myself, for better or worse. I have these two girls who are my entire universe. And it has all been out there.”

While speaking with Seth Rogen on the Wednesday, April 9 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the daytime television host shared that she’s getting ready for her 12-year-old daughter Olive’s bat mitzvah in September.
With her ex-husband being Jewish, the mom of two has been open about raising her daughters in the faith.
“I’m a shiksa. I do the seders and we do Passover. I haven’t converted yet, [but] Olive will be raised traditionally,” she explained during an appearance on The View when Olive was younger.
